A Brief history of the Period and Classic Caravan Club.

In The Beginning

In 1982 'The Period & Classic Caravan Club' was formed by a small group of vintage Caravan enthusiasts, John Brindley, John Ellis, Alan Perry and Graham Perry.

Their aim was to record, restore , preserve and exhibit  vintage & classic caravans.

At that time the club catered for caravans over 25 years old & welcomed membership for anyone who had a keen interest in the old Caravan movement.

As membership grew, a newsletter was designed with the aim to keep members informed of future rally's and for fellow enthusiasts to share stories of their rescues, restorations and experiences with other members.

It was decided that the newsletter would be fittingly called the 'Hoot & Pass' which is still going strong today.

As the interest and membership grew it was decided to leave the rolling 25 year date code behind and set a new level of pre 1980 caravans only.

The 'Hoot & Pass' has been the stable means of keeping our members updated with news, events, and stories since the club’s conception back in 1982. Although in the early days with primitive technology available, the 'Hoot & Pass' was a simple A4, black and white newsletter. We are now proud of our 20 page quarterly issued, full colour magazine.
Full of caravanning articles, rally reports, caravan finds and rescues, for sale section and Events Diary.
